New Organizational Structure
Memorial is undergoing a change in its organizational structure. The backbone framework consists of the teams in bold below:
The Spiritual Leaders Circle
Memorial's structure is first and foremost aimed at implementing its vision of Empowering Servant Leadership: serving you and supporting your discipleship of carrying out our mission of Showing and Telling Jesus’ Love Everywhere through the many active ministry, mission, work areas or groups representing one to several dozen people or more.
United Methodist Ministries
A portion of your pledged giving to Memorial United Methodist Church's general fund goes to support ministries and missions outside our the local Clovis church. Ministries and missions not only throughout the world, but in the USA. These are appropriately called Apportioned Funds. Memorial strives to pay these funds in full. Click the picture below for a video about the "World Service Fund".
WANTED: YOUTH PARENTS!
We have a lot of new people in our youth group this year, and a lot of new parents who are encouraged to attend our monthly youth board meetings. These meetings are a chance to review and plan upcoming activities, and discuss important events in our children's lives at school and at church. It's also a great opportunity to meet and greet with other parents--we have a lot more in common than just our kids! ANYONE who is interested in encouraging our youth in a healthy Christian lifestyle, is welcome. We meet in the Lose Library on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. See you there!
The Food Pantry Needs Your Help.
Needed: Boxed cereal, canned fruit, canned vegetables, meat (spam type) Vienna sausage, peanut butter, dry milk, canned soup. You can drop these items off at the church office.
Can YOU Save The Church Some Money?
The church newsletter, The Good News, is published on this church web site (see link to the left) as well as a printed copy mailed to members. If you prefer reading it on-line like this and just as well not have the printed copy, let the office know. If enough people say they don't need the printed copy, money could be saved by not mailing the printed copy of The Good News
.How to use Memorial's microphones (for everyone)
Occasionally you will need to speak into a microphone. Click the above link to learn how.
Parents' Time Out (PTO)
PTO is a chance for the grown-ups to meet (without the kids!) for chat, Bible Study, eats, games, whatever kind of fun we want! PTO will meet on the first Sunday of every month in the Fellowship Hall. Youth grades 7 - 12 may join the youth group in the Bungalow for our regular Movie Nite. If you have any questions, contact Connie Alfaro.

Below is an email from a passerby on the trail:
Hi Church,
I was hiking Sunday above Huntington Lake and came across a group of kids from your church who were camping up there. Very nice children and very happy. I took their picture for them and told them I would send it to the church website.
Thank you for taking such good care of our community's children

Messages of Christ in Movies
and Books
When Jesus wanted to make a point, he told stories that caught people's imaginations and made them think, stories like the Prodigal Son and the Lost Sheep. Those stories are still around, helping us to understand what Jesus was trying to tell us. But these days, it's hard to get into stories about mustard seeds and fig trees, and even harder to get Jesus' message. We can find messages today in movies and books.
