Sunday Oct. 2 is the first day of Sunday School, and we are looking forward to a year full of new things to learn!  Sunday School is provided for all ages at 11:00 each Sunday morning.  An Adult Class is also offered at this hour, starting with a reading and discussion of Adam Hamilton’s book, “When Christians Get it Wrong,” an approach to perceptions of Christian hypocrisy and legalism that is sure to generate some great conversation.   See you in Sunday School!

Every year the Live Nativity event gets better and better!  Yes, it was also *wetter* last year, but as always we weathered the storm together.  The Nativity is planned for Dec. 17 and 18 this year, and it’s never too soon to get started working out the many details that make it such a special event.  Our first planning meeting is scheduled for Oct. 2 after the second worship service at 12:30 p.m. in the Lose Library.  A light lunch of soup and salad will be served.  Whether you are one of our many wonderful “veterans” for this event, or you are looking for something fun and new to work on for the holidays, you are welcome!

Mark your calendars for an all church camping trip Fri Sept 23, Sat Sept 24 and Sun Sept 25 at Huntington Lake! Plans are to camp at Lower Billy Creek campground. This is an individual campground so each group will need to register its own site.Usually, two or more families or groups of individuals can share a site. We will try to get sites close together. There are no reservations after Labor Day, so it’s first come, first served. We will be having a potluck on Saturday night, campfire with s’mores, and a sing-along at the Pachelbel’s cabin. The BBQ will be available for grilling. Church service on Sunday morning will be at the lakeshore. If you would like to go, but don’t have camping gear, let us know, and we’ll try to pool our resources to find you some. Anyone is welcome to come up just for the day. If any non-campers want to spend the day and stay over at indoor accommodations, there are several resorts in the area. We will print more details in the bulletin as we know them, so keep checking there, too! Please let us know if you would like to attend, so that we can plan for services here in Clovis and in the mountains on that Sunday morning. Sign-up sheets will be in the Narthex with more details. If you have questions, contact Diane Zastovnik.

The first day of Sunday School is Oct. 2, and it is going to be a great year!  To get things kicked off right, the Sunday School Department wants to meet with the parents of our Sunday School kids on September 18 at 6 pm in the Lose Library.  We’ll talk about our plans for the year, and want to hear any ideas you may have to make your child’s Bible education even better!  Please bring your kids – we’ll have a movie and munchies for them in the Fellowship Hall during the meeting.   We’ll have good munchies and drinks for our meeting too.  See you there!

Special Mission Presentation-Monday, August 8 – Don’t Miss It!!

You are invited to a very special event on Monday, August 8th at 7:00 P.M. in the church sanctuary.  Kevin Bonzo, son of Rich and Janet, along with his friend Jordan, will be sharing an audio-visual presentation about their recent trip to Kenya.  You won’t want to miss this inspiring time where Kevin and Jordan will provide us with a firsthand account of how God is working in their lives and how they were touched by their experiences in Kenya.  Light refreshments will be served after.  Please come to support and be uplifted by these two dedicated servants of Christ!

If you want to go on a super-fun hiking trip with the PTO group, meet after the 2nd service on Sunday August 7. Please bring a sack lunch with you, and wear some shoes that were made for walking! We will drive somewhere cooler than Fresno to do the hike. Contact Ron Zastovnik with questions, or for more details.
