Needed Additions to the AV
System
Memorial needs continued donations
for the AV Systems.
Video System Needs
1. Two 23+ inch LCD monitors are needed for the choir. The current tube type monitor is not very clear, is difficult for everyone in the choir to see. With newer choir monitors, we can run the whole system at a higher resolution making the image on the front screens more detailed. Cost: about $800
2. Bulbs. The projector bulbs will eventually burn out. The cost to replace them is about $300 each. That money needs to exist to be ready to replace the bulbs when they burn out.
3. Repairs. The projection system works from a computer. Everyone knows what it takes to keep computers running and up to date. Eventually we will have to replace the computer.
Sound System Needs
1. Mixer. Memorial is getting a new mixer via a grant to provide more inputs and better sound control. However there will be additional costs involved with the installation.
2. Sound Booth. Plans have been made for a raised, enclosed booth for both the sound operator and video operator. The cost will probably be around $4000.
3. Band monitor. A monitor for the Imagine! band let them hear themselves better. Standing up front makes it difficult to hear. Cost: $600
4. Wireless microphone receiver. With the addition of the new mixer, the system will accommodate an additional wireless microphone receiver. We have 4 wireless microphones, but only 3 receivers. Cost: $300
5. Repairs. Microphones are dropped. Cables go bad, Equipment can fail. Memorial needs continued income to keep the system operation.
What does this have to do with our relationship with Jesus? What does this have to do with our ministries? People expect to come away from a worship service with some renewal of the love of Christ and with a renewed commitment to do his work in the world. A worship service with the sound not loud enough to hear, noises, failing video, or a band with poor sound amplification will distract people from the purpose of the service. Well working video and sound systems will go unnoticed by the congregation.
Unfortunately this equipment is expensive. Your continued donations are needed. You can donate direct to the A/V funds, or just to the General fund.
Thank you.
